Looking to add a bit of variety to your quesadilla? Try our Beefy Quesadillas with Dipping Sauce! This recipe takes a bit of a spin adding in a few spices and of course, our delicious, shredded beef!

  • 1 package Hereford Shredded Beef with Broth
  • 1 Cup chopped red onion
  • 1 Cup water
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 1 TBL ground cumin
  • 1-2 TBL cooking oil
  • 6 8” flour tortillas
  • 2 Cups shredded cheddar


  1. Place chopped onion and 2 TBL of water in a skillet. Cook on medium high heat until onion starts to become fragrant and translucent.
  2. Add spices and stir to combine.
  3. Then add Hereford Shredded Beef with Broth and the rest of the water.
  4. Cook 7 minutes or until water is reduced by 1/2. Remove from heat and carefully drain cooking liquid from the meat and reserve.
  5. In a clean skillet, heat 1/3 oil on medium high heat. Place 1 tortilla in skillet and top with 1/3 cheese and 1/3 meat. Place another tortilla over the top.
  6. When the bottom tortilla starts to brown turn the quesadilla over and brown the other side.
  7. Remove from heat and continue this process with the rest of the oil, tortillas, cheese, and meat.
  8. Let quesadillas cool until cheese is set.
  9. Cut quesadillas into pie shaped wedges for serving. Reheat dipping liquid if necessary and serve in a bowl.
